In the state of Washington, Applus+ Technologies manages the centralized vehicle emissions testing program. In order to maintain the integrity of the program, Applus+ provided a solution for the inspectors to log into the analyzers via secure biometric finger scanners. These scanners communicate with innovative fingerprint recognition software to ensure that only authorized personnel are using our equipment and any questionable inspection can always be attributed to the inspector who performed it.
Applus+ is now in the process of integrating similar fingerprint recognition technology into its Illinois dashboard for authenticating users.
