Applus+ is proud of its newest product line, designed to interact with a vehicle's on-board computer. Each product in this line is specifically designed to promote motorist convenience and help make emissions testing easier and more efficient.

ECOSystem™ is an exclusive line of products designed for the I/M industry with motorists convenience and self service in mind. Using our expertise with on-board-diagnostics, we have developed solutions that provide a convenient alternative to the traditional emissions test as we know it today.

w-series:
The w-series is a wireless transponder customized and developed by Applus+ to facilitate wireless transmission of vehicle data. The device is plugged into the diagnostic link connector (DLC) of an OBD-testable vehicle. Once successfully connected, emissions data will be wirelessly transmitted to a secure Applus+ database in real-time.

Thanks to the w-series transponder, motorists will no longer have to wait in long lines at centralized emissions testing facilities or be forced to drop off their vehicle for testing at a designated decentralized testing facility. The w-series provides motorists with a convenience way to perform their own inspections simply by driving near or around conveniently located hot spots. These hot spots can be strategically placed at convenient locations with easier access for our customers.

Currently this solution is being piloted in the State of Nevada.

m-series:
The ECOSystem™ m-series is a self-serve kiosk, fully equipped with a wireless OBD connector and wireless code 39 bar code scanner. An option is also available which uses a dual screen. In this alternative model, one screen is dedicated exclusively to interactive video help functions and instructions.

The interactive videos serve to instruct users and widen their understanding of the emissions testing process. If at any time the motorist is unsure of how to proceed, the user-friendly video will provide step-by-step assistance.

The m-series is fully equipped with all that is required to make the testing experience as convenient as possible. The following are some of the features on the m-series self-serve kiosk:

The m-series was demonstrated at the Clean Air Conference in 2005.
