First New York State Motor Voter Transaction on a Customer Facing Device

March 4, 2019 – Applus Technologies, Inc. announces the first voter registration transaction on its Customer Facing Device (CFD) system at the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). The CFD system provides DMV customers with a self-service option to register to vote with the New York State Board of Elections while completing other transactions at the offices.

DMV customers easily complete voter transactions on touchscreen devices with little or no assistance from DMV staff.  An intuitive interface guides DMV customers through the registration process and captures electronic signatures at the end of the transaction. Applus+ provisions all software, hardware, and related services to support the solution which integrates with DMV’s back end processing system.

By May 2019, over 1,200 CFDs will be available for voter registration in 120 DMV and county offices throughout the state. Darrin Greene, Chief Executive Officer, Applus Technologies said: “It is Applus’ pleasure to help DMV facilitate a paperless process, and to provide DMV customers with convenience and time-saving efficiencies.”
